Hopkins Albion Press 1831

QoD Press

It all began when we bought the Albion. After a long
career in design and, following our move to Devon,
we were ambitious to experiment with relief printing.
We had little experience but a lot of enthusiasm.

Our ancient press has a large bed and, in a past life,
had been used to print a local newspaper. The size allows
us to print big format work and, we have found, is suited
to many different kinds of print media.

Our first project combined digital artwork, made into polymer plates, and printing with lino blocks resulted in
our collaborative work ON READING J. H. PRYNNE'S SUB SONGS by the poet John James.

We enjoy print making and look forward to more collaborations and future projects.
